Expert Clock Repair, Restoration & Servicing by a Family‑Run Specialist
Clock Corner is a family‑owned clock repair and restoration business built on over five decades of traditional craftsmanship. Founded by Ian Smith, a lifelong engineering enthusiast from Newton‑le‑Willows, our workshop has become a trusted destination for clock repairs, antique clock restoration, and specialist servicing across the UK.
A Heritage of Horological Craftsmanship
Ian’s journey began in 1970, when he took a family watch to a respected horologist in Wargrave, Lancashire. Recognising Ian’s passion for mechanical precision, the master craftsman — with more than 50 years of experience — offered to train him in the traditional techniques that still define Clock Corner today.
After years of hands‑on learning and meticulous practice, Ian opened Clock Corner in 1974, leaving his role as a chemist at Pilkington’s in St Helens to pursue his true calling: restoring clocks to the highest possible standard and offering customers unique, reliable timepieces.

Since opening the doors of our Stockton Heath workshop, customers have brought us clocks and watches of every age, style, and complexity. A Family‑Run Clock Repair Business Built on Skill & Trust
Horology often runs in the family, and the Smith family is no exception. Over the years, each member has spent time at the bench, developing their own skills and contributing to the friendly, knowledgeable service our customers value.
Today, Keith leads the workshop with more than 26 years of hands‑on experience. His dedication to traditional craftsmanship and his ability to diagnose and restore even the most complex movements have helped establish Clock Corner as a leading UK clock repair specialist.
